Capt's blog: Day 3 recap

Monday morning we woke up in Half Moon Bay.  We spent the night on Highway 1 on the side of the road by the ocean.  It was cool.  We got to see a bit of the coast but quickly headed back towards I5 to keep to our schedule.  We stopped at The Wooden Nickel Bar and Grill in Freedom California.  We met an awesome person, Leighann Churchill.  Because we were decked out in our Seahawks gear she started chatting us up about where in Washington we were from because her brother lives in Enumclaw.  HOLY small world.  Capt. Underpants gets credit for picking that bar as she searched all around and we turned all around to see if it was acceptable.  OH it was.

Leighann Churchill - She took a picture of us in our Seahawks gear holding a happy birthday sign for her brother.

We started off on our way to LA.  Our next stop Hollywood Hills.  Not much to say about our travels except fill er up and keep on moving.

Our next hook up was with someone who shall be called, "Joey on the blog" to protect the innocent.  "Joey" asked up to meet him at Barney's Beanery.  Here is a selfie with said Joey.

After dinner we scampered up to Hollywood hills in Howard.  It took some maneuvering to get Howard situated, but he was a champ.  We tarped him up as it was raining.  We brought the rain.  Joey lives right next to Jane Lynch...Stalker mode fully kicked in. ;)  Thanks for helping to tarp up Howard "Joey on the blog"

We hung out and had a photo sesh.  Pics will be recovered and posted later.  Nothing dirty, geez!  Finally settled back into Howard to bed down for the night and discovered...no cell signal, no wifi...welcome back to the 80's!  Say goodnight to Day 3.

Road food suggestions

Jenny and I decided as a team we didn't have time to stop and eat much.  So gas stations sandwiches it was to be for us.  We even said that...sandwiches from that damn glass beast.  We stop and I truck on in and grab what I deem as an acceptable sandwich.  I get some water and some sort of form of trail mix and head back out to Howard.  Howard was full of gas and Jenny looks across the street and points at Taco Bell and says, "I think I'm going to drive over there and get some tacos".  WTF was my look as I had already half scarfed down a really dry yet soggy sandwich.  NO CONDIMENTS!  We drive on over and Jenny gets two warm burritos and then realizes we need to go back to the gas station because she still needs water.  You know it's bad when Taco Bell is a step up on the road food chain.  Moral of this story is...we can eat whatever we fucking want.  Taco Bell...Capt. Underpants food of choice while on the open road.

Leaving LA today

We have had little to no signal the last two days.  We made the most of it and actually enjoyed the sunshine yesterday.   We will be slow rolling the last leg to Kelseyville today.  I plan on updating the blog and adding more details tonight or tomorrow.  Stay tuned as we head back into civilization today.

Capt's blog: Day two

2nd leg of the trip and we entered enemy territory.  This day is going to be about scenery.  Enjoy these photos.

Mt. Shasta up there.

Bobble head Obama on the dash.

This picture speaks for itself.  I missed the sign that says, "Weed like to welcome you".

Enemy territory for sure.  I believe this is The Bay Bridge... we scampered on through towards Half Moon Bay.

Wake up at Half Moon Bay.  Not bad.  Stay tuned for Day 3.  Jenny has decided she is Capt. Underpants Jenny!

1st leg complete

Day one continued:   We made it, to what we thought was Ashland Oregon...turns out it's called Phoenix Oregon.  This is a sign!  We were hardly followed into Lorelei's neighborhood by The Phoenix Police.  I think they were shocked to see us hugging in the driveway.

Surprise, this town rocks.  Not a surprise Lorelei rocks!  She had ice cold beers and pizza waiting for us upon our arrival.  We went down town to Ashland and saw one of her favorite bands.  They rocked the house.

And on that note I wish you all a great night.  We put Lola to bed.  Capt. Turn Down For What Kris needs to turn in.  Good night all!

Day one first stop:

Vancouver Washington.  Two of the most loyal 12's we know.  Amy Allinger and one Rex Allinger.  Rex attempted to stow himself away in Howard, but was really more successful at his photo bomb.

There is a video of Amy Allinger professing her love to the Green Bay special teams player who f'd up the onside block.  You had ONE job.  Boy aren't we glad you messed that up!  (video to be posted as soon as we can locate it)
